Koei Tecmo released footage of the upcoming port of Hyrule Warriors, titled in Japan as Zelda Musou: Hyrule All-Stars. One of the main additions to this game is Tetra as a playable character. You may remember her from The Wind Waker, a rather popular Zelda title that received a HD release a couple years ago. For those of you that already own the Wii U version of Hyrule Warriors you can transfer her and other new characters over from the 3DS version. You can see her in action below:

The 3DS version of Hyrule Warriors will release in Japan on January 21, 2016. Buy it at launch to receive a code to download a special 3DS theme. There are also a couple special editions of the game being released, one that includes a compass-shaped pendant watch with an official setting document book. This will cost 9,800 yen or about $80. An even cooler edition will be a Gamecity and Amazon.co.jp exclusive that not only has the watch and document book but a “Zelda Musou special ocarina performance set” and a talking fairy plush. This edition will cost 13,800 yen or about $112.

Hopefully they’ll let us transfer our progress back and forth. Otherwise It’ll just end up being $40 DLC for many of us HW owners. It will give me zero motivation to play the 3ds version if I can’t transfer my progress from one version to the other.
