Ever since the passing of Satoru Iwata this year, fans have speculated on the future of Nintendo Direct, the popular series of videos Nintendo created to announce upcoming games for their hardware. After naming Tatsumi Kimishima as the President of Nintendo Co. Ltd. this week, Nintendo released a statement today confirming they will continue to produce Nintendo Direct videos in the future to IGN. Nintendo said the following to IGN in regards to future Nintendo Directs:

“Nintendo Directs will continue,” “but we have no details to provide now on who will be featured or the topics that will be covered.”

At this time, we do not know who will be the face of Nintendo Direct or if there will be any other significant changes to the presentations. We will likely have to wait until Nintendo announces a new Nintendo Direct to see what will unfold. If anymore breaking news is released, we will let you know about it here on the site.

Are you happy Nintendo confirmed the continuation of Nintendo Direct? What are you thoughts on the series going forward? Do you think Nintendo Direct will retain the usual style it had before or do you think there will be changes made to them with Tatsumi Kimishima in charge as Nintendo’s new president? Share your thoughts and reactions to Nintendo’s latest statement with us.
