Kodansha’s official website for Monthly Fairy Tail Magazine announced that a new monthly magazine, titled Monthly Fairy Tail Collection, would start in September. This follows the earlier Monthly Fairy Tail Magazine, which ran for 13 issues from July 2014 to July 2015. The first issue of the new magazine releases digitally on September 1, with a physical release following on September 17.

The new magazine will feature Fairy Tail-related news, as well as bundling a DVD with four episodes of the anime series, plus a video with Aya Hirano, Lucy Heartfilia’s voice actress. Each issue also includes special merchandise designed by series author Hiro Mashima, with the first issue shipping with a rubber strap with Natsu and Happy, an acrylic key chain bearing an image of Lucy brandishing one of her gate keys, and a tin badge featuring an image of Grey readying his ice magic.

First-issue merchandise for new Fairy Tail magazine

The original Monthly Fairy Tail Magazine brought with it two spinoff manga series when it launched. Fairy Tail Zero was a prequel by original creator Hiro Mashima, and Tale of Fairy Tail: Ice Trail, a story about Grey’s childhood drawn by Yusuke Shirato. Both series started with the magazine’s first issue, and ended with its final issue.
