Mobile Suit Gundam IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS has been announced. The series will be directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai and written by Mari Okada. The story will focus on a group of orphan soldiers looking for a home. They come across an older model Gundam that has the power to evolve and become stronger.

Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans is set to air on October 4th, 2015.

Thanks to @Mike_Nieto for the tip.

Personally, I’m not much a fan of anything not-UC, but this here seems promising to me. The general setting seems more focused on the war and its consequences and I like the fact that the main characters seem to be part of military squad or something of the sort, far better than the cliche of having them be high-school students, since it has been used beyond death nowadays.

Thanks for the heads up, didn’t even knew this was happening, lol.

it looks very promising, like a gundam wing or 00 which are my favorite in the series. I’ve fallen off the gundam hype, but this definitely looks like something i’d be interested in.

definitely going to be keeping an eye on this. I’ve learned not to judge gundam series to early (thank you AGE for ruining it and Build Fighter for redeeming Gundam, which my first impressions though it would be the opposite) but i like that it looks similar to Wing and 00, cause both were amazing. I think their plot setting (trained soldier with a past piloting the Gundams) usually works out much better then the reused plot setting of U.C. and C.E. (i.e. the high school kid that finds a Gundam).

All in all, can’t wait to see where they go with this one, and hope they don’t screw up the evolving Gundam like they did in AGE.

    Can’t be worse than AGE
