Via Famitsu Square Enix has announced a new Dragon Quest game for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Vita consoles. The game is titled Dragon Quest Builders, and from what I can tell this is Minecraft with Dragon Quest assets. While we don’t have very much information about this title currently we will pass more information along as it becomes available.

About Steve Baltimore

Steve started with oprainfall not long after the campaign moved from the IGN forums to Facebook. Ever since, he has been fighting to give all non-mainstream RPGs a fair voice. As the site admin, he will continue to do this and even show there is value in what some would deem "pure ecchi." He loves niche games and anime more than anything... well, except maybe Neptune.

They ought to cancel this title asap, looks like a complete rip off and why waste time on this when they could be using those people on the more important projects. :/

    • Adam Miller

While I agree the formula is played to death, we can guarantee the quality and completeness of this experience will be of much higher quality, as opposed to Minecraft (Of which I was a fan before becoming bored with the lack of meaningful updates, the constant need to abandon your game world because of an update, and fiddling with mods) which after 6 years is still a vastly incomplete game.

Why would they cancel this title? In Japan, anything with the Dragon Quest name earns boatloads of money.

  • Cameron Ward

    um, I would buy this
