Shantae half Genie Hero | E3 2015

It’s been a while since WayForward announced this title and set up a Kickstarter for it. Although the funding was supposed to have ended in October 2013, the Kickstarter remained active until December of the following year and reached its stretch goals thanks to the series many devoted fans. Now, with E3 2015 upon us all, WayForward has decided to give us a taste of how progress is coming along on the fourth game in the series, Shantae: Half Genie Hero. In the game, you’re once again exploring perilous platforming environments as Shantae, who can jump, has the ability to use her hair like a whip and can also transform into different animals to get past various obstacles. In Half Genie Hero, gamers will have the option to play as Shantae’s nemesis Risky Boots, who has his own set of tools and abilities as an equalizer for Shantae’s magical powers. Because the stretch goals for the Kickstarter were reached, there will also be a Hero mode where players  can take on the roles of Shantae’s pals, although we still don’t know much about how they’ll play.  At any rate, check out the new trailer to see how things are coming along!

Shantae: Half Genie Hero will be available on Windows, Sony Playstation 3 and Playstation 4, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Xbox ONe and on the Nintendo Wii U. A launch date hasn’t been confirmed just yet.
