It’s a pretty good day for the Nintendo Download. Wii U owners have a chance to test out Splatoon this weekend in something called the Splatoon Global Testfire. This is a limited time demo that starts tomorrow night. Here are the times (from the press release):

  • Friday, May 8, 8-9 p.m. PT
  • Saturday, May 9, 4-5 a.m. PT
  • Saturday, May 9, Noon-1 p.m. PT

As for new games, High Strangeness has released on the eShop for Wii U. On the Virtual Console, Mega Man & Bass leads off Mega May. Also coming to the Wii U VC is Metal Marines.

Over on 3DS, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker has released. For those that are unfamiliar, this is a 3DS remake of the 2012 DS sequel to the original Devil Survivor game that also had a 3DS remake. Also, a new tournament for Code Name S.T.E.A.M. called “Watt’s Up?” will go on during the weekend.

And if you’re someone that was looking to play either Splatoon or Puzzle & Dragons Z + Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition at Midnight on release day, you can buy and begin downloading the software now. However, you cannot play either game until there respective releases.

Full press release here. You can also check out the gallery of releases below.
