Yo-kai Watch | Huge Success in Japan

The popular Japanese game Yo-kai Watch has now sold over seven million copies including digital downloads, according to publisher/developer Level 5.

The game franchise has become a genuine Pokemon-esque phenomenon, expanding from its two games, with a third on the way, into anime, books, and toys. As of the end of march 200 million toys from the franchise have been shipped. The Yo-kai Watch movie made more the 7.6 billion yen, approximately 63 million in American dollars.

At the moment, Yo-kai Watch is only available in Japan. However, an American localization is in the works, so parents who want their kids to love them next Christmas might want to keep your eyes peeled for when they hit Western shores.
