Sega Genesis Classics - Series 1

If you’re short on cash and have a yearning for one of the SEGA Genesis classics, you don’t have to resort to emulators to get your fix. Currently, Amazon has a deal in which you can get all five SEGA Genesis Classics (Steam ports of first-party Genesis games) packs for $2.62. That’s less than SEGA sells an individual Genesis game on Steam. Plus, these games come with all the features you’d expect from a free emulator such as wide controller support and save states. Here’s the games you’ll get from this pack:

  • Golden Axe
  • Altered Beast
  • Comix Zone
  • Ecco the Dolphin
  • Gain Ground
  • Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master
  • VectorMan
  • Crack Down
  • Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi
  • Space Harrier II
  • Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
  • Bonanza Bros.
  • Columns
  • Ecco Jr.
  • Eternal Champions
  • Fatal Labyrinth
  • Galaxy Force II
  • Kid Chameleon
  • Ristar
  • Super Thunder Blade.
  • Alien Storm
  • Bio-Hazard Battle
  • Columns III
  • Sword of Vermilion
  • Virtua Fighter 2
  • Ecco: The Tides of Time
  • Decap Attack
  • Flicky
  • ESWAT: City Under Siege
  • Golden Axe II
  • Alien Soldier
  • Gunstar Heroes
  • Landstalker: The Treasures of King Nole
  • Light Crusader
  • Shining Force
  • Shining Force II
  • Shining in the Darkness
  • Streets of Rage
  • Streets of Rage 2
  • Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair
  • Phantasy Star 2
  • Golden Axe 3
  • Streets of Rage 3
  • The Revenge of Shinobi
  • Wonder Boy in Monster World
  • Vectorman 2
  • Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium
  • Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom
  • Dynamite Headdy
  • Beyond Oasis / The Story of Thor

Yes, you’ll get all of these for $2.62. If you don’t have these games on Steam yet, I highly recommend picking up this pack. If see a distinct lack of Sonic games in this list, you can find them in a slightly different pack. It has 48 games, is missing some the ones you find in the other deal (most prominently the Phantasy Star games), and costs $4.88. There’s no word on how long these deals will last, so pick them up quickly if you’re interested.

About Guy Rainey

I’m Guy Rainey. I’m a hardcore Nintendo fan, a PC enthusiast, and a Sony sympathizer. Also an amateur/aspiring game creator. I love any game that puts story as the main focus of the game, so that means JRPGs are my favorite genre almost by default.

  • TrueWiiMaster

I don’t if I’d ever play any of them, but this is still very tempting.

    • TrueWiiMaster

I went ahead and got them (for that cheap, why not?). My only complaint is the UI. Rather than the games showing either as a list/menu, or individually in your Steam library, they’re presented one by one. You have to scroll through dozens of games looking for whatever game you want to play, and they don’t seem to be in any particular order.
