Langrisser, named Warsong for Western audiences, is a strategy RPG released in 1991 for the Sega Mega Drive and continued to see releases up until the 1999 installment, Langrisser Millennium: The Last Century.

Weekly Famitsu has released screen shots of Masaya Games’ new game for the Nintendo 3DS. This will be a new title in the Langrisser series. The game will support 10 vs 10 strategy RPG battle sequences with characters rendered in the chibi style art. The story so far features a boy who’s acquired the holy blade Excalibur as he set out to find a friend who’s been taken away from him.

Langrisser has been announced for release in Japan.

This is cool and somewhat not so surprising after the success of Fire Emblem Awakening. Interesting a new Langrisser was announced before a new FF Tactics. Meanwhile what I’d like to see most is Camelot announce a new Shining Force style game. Camelot, go back to your roots! 🙂

You know what could be interesting, making a Shining Force clone set in the same universe as Golden Sun.

    • Taiyaki

That would be very cool too.
