Evo 2015 | Persona 4 Arena Ultimax

Evolution Series organizer, Joey Cueller, has revealed the the Evo 2015 fighting games line via Twitch stream this morning. It includes some of my personal favorite fighting games, such as Guilty Gear Xrd and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, but the most interesting news to come from this is that Tekken 7 will be played on an arcade cabinet.

The full line up is:

  • Ultra Street Fighter 4
  • Marvel vs. Capcom 3
  • Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
  • Guilty Gear Xrd
  • Killer Instinct
  • Mortal Kombat X
  • Persona 4 Arena Ultimax
  • Super Smash Bros.┬áMelee
  • Tekken 7

Bringing back the arcade cabinets to Evo this year will be the first time since 2004 that the competition allows them. Bandai Namco will be allowing people to play on the cabinet at different events around North America and also at the pre-event the day before Evo to allow players to have access to the machine.

Evo will take place on July 17-19 in Las Vegas.

What’s the point of having two different versions of Super Smash Bros?

    • Justin Patterson

Because it will bring players and watchers for both still. Smash 4 was practically a given as it’s a new game. But people love Melee so much that both will still get views and players. Hell I’ve been to tournaments where Melee got more people signed up than Street fighter or Marvel.

Gotcha. I’d prob get it more if it were Virtua Fighter lol

Smash bros is a terrible fighting game by any standard… martial arts? A great party game, I’ll give you that. Girls even play smash bros. But it’s not much of a fighting game. Kind of lessens the tournament’s credibility.
