Shin Megami Tensei IV

Released over a year ago in both the US and Japan, it was announced in June that Shin Megami Tensei IV, a finalist for our Best 3DS Game of 2013, would finally come to the rest of the world. Well, now we know that the game is set to release in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand on October 30 as an eShop exclusive. The game’s DLC is also set to release in those regions in the month following the game’s launch as well, including the armor, stages, and grinding and money DLC.

In case you need a refresher on what the game is, here’s what Atlus has to say:

The story of Shin Megami Tensei IV revolves around the Samurai, the sacred protectors of the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado. As a newly appointed Samurai, players will struggle with factions that have nefarious designs on the world as they defend their home kingdom from a growing army of demons. Decisions players make throughout the course of the story will have lasting repercussions, as the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

What do you all think of this? Are you happy that the game is finally coming to the rest of the world? Does this game look exciting to you? If you’re still undecided on whether or not you want to get it, why don’t you check out our review, or look at the cast rundown we wrote up?

I’m thrilled by this. I just got a 3DS recently and SMT4 was one of the reasons why. Was very disappointed to learn it had been delayed, but I’m glad it’s finally coming (and that we’re getting it at all). Might need to dig around for a larger SD card though, I doubt it’s going to be a small game.

  • Not gonna buy it, what did they expect? We won’t notice that it was delayed for a year for absolutely no reason?

    • Pancakes

Yeah, don’t buy it. That’ll show them that you’re really interested in the series so they’ll make extra sure to bring the next one here faster despite the low sales numbers from people like you boycotting it over something stupid.

Better late than never, we’re finally getting the game. Best way to show them we want more would be to vote with our wallets.

    • Giordan

      oh just buy it already.
