Devil Survivor 2: Break Record

Today at the Tokyo Game Show, Atlus announced the release date for its upcoming 3DS game Devil Survivor 2: Break Record. The game will be releasing in Japan on January 29, 2015. Originally, the game was set to be released on July 11th of last year, but due to concerns with quality issues, the game was delayed.

A spinoff of Atlus’ successful Shin Megami Tensei series, the game is a enhanced port of the original Devil Survivor 2, which released for the DS in Japan on July 28 of 2011, in the US and Canada on February 28, 2012 and in Europe on October 18, 2013. The game serves as a sequel to Devil Survivor and its enhanced 3DS remake, Devil Survivor Overclocked.

Like Overclocked, Break Record will feature a new character, new animated 3D sequences, and an extra scenario that takes place after the end of the game, which is said will be as long as a complete game in and of itself, and will be accessible from the beginning of the game.

No western release has been announced yet. Although, since all of the other games in the Devil Survivor sub-series have seen both European and American releases — as well as pretty much the entire SMT franchise the past few years — it’s likely that this will get a western release as well. What do you all think though? Are you excited about this? Let us know in the comments.
