PoPoLoCrois Farm Story | Marvelous and Famitsu Reveal Cross OverJapanese magazine Famitsu has revealed a crossover game from the long running farming series Bokujō Monogatari (formerly known in the West as Harvest Moon) and PoPoLoCrois. The game is called PoPoLoCrois Bokujō Monogatari and will feature farming elements mixed with a strategy RPG. It will be coming to the 3DS.

For those that are unfamiliar, PoPoLoCrois is an action-adventure-fantasy manga that started in the late 70s-early 80s (depending on what you consider its official start). It was eventually turned into a video game in the mid-90s, which was developed by Sony for the PlayStation. A number of games would be released on the PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable, with the PSP game being the only installment to reach Western shores with help from Agetec and Ignition Entertainment.

As for Bokujō Monogatari, this is the latest spin-off in the franchise that looks to mix farming with RPG elements, joining the critically acclaimed Rune Factory series as the second spin-off to attempt this. The game is being created under the watchful eye of Marvelous producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto and is roughly 50% complete. A number of characters from PoPoLoCrois have been revealed for the game. They are, along with voice actor, as follows:

  • Prince Pietro, voiced by Ai Orikasa
  • Narcia, voiced by Yuri Shiratori
  • Gilda, voiced by Masako Nozawa
  • White Knight, voiced by Masashi Ebara
  • Gamigami Devil, voiced by Akio Otsuka

The game currently has no release date or plans for western localization. Keep an eye on the oprainfall website for more news on this intriguing game, as well as “an unexpected project” that was teased by Hashimoto.
