While Kyoto was confirming Shulk as a playable character in Smash as well as Xenoblade Chronicles for the New 3DS, NOA was busy revealing its hand for the next 6 months. News about updates, release dates, pre-orders and even special bundles were revealed. We’ll get to the game line-up in a bit, but let’s talk about the other stuff first.

Nintendo | Amiibo Launch Line-Up

First things first, the amiibo interactive figures are available for pre-order at select retailers. The first 12 figures will be coming alongside Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. In addition to being used for that game, other known compatible titles are Mario Kart 8, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Mario Party 10, and Yoshi’s Woolly World. More titles are expected to be compatible with these figures.

Next, an update is coming to the 3DS in October. This update will be introducing menu themes for the 3DS Home Menu. These will change things like the background, icons, folders, music and sound effects. These themes will be available for purchase in a new Theme Shop that will be added to the Home Menu.

New bundles will be made available starting next month. We start with a Super Mario 3D World Deluxe Set, which will include physical copies of Super Mario 3D World and Nintendo Land along with the console at a suggested price of $299.99 USD. Also coming is a special Walmart Exclusive Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Set. This bundle will include physical copies of Mario Kart 8 and Nintendo Land along with the console for $299.99. Finally, three Nintendo 2DS bundles will be made available. The 2DS systems will come in three different colors: Electric Blue, Crimson Red, and Sea Green. In addition, they will come with a download code for Mario Kart 7. These bundles will retail for $129.99.

Uggghhhh just give me a solid release date for Shantae already!!!

  • Billy Bass

I’ve been waiting for Citizens of Earth and Pier Solar for a while now. Both games have been delayed quite a few times and I’m wondering if they’ll actually get released or not.
