Bumbling detective Tohru Adachi will be a playable character in the upcoming Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, according to a leak from the most recent issue of Famitsu. Adachi, who originally appeared in 2008’s Persona 4, will be released via DLC, which will come included with first-print run Japanese copies of the game. Adachi will have his own story content titled “Episode Adachi”, and he will also use his own Persona, Magatsu Izanagi. There is no word on whether or not North American gamers will get access to this DLC.
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is being developed by Arc System Works, and is a sequel to their 2012 fighting game Persona 4 Arena, which was in turn a sequel to Persona 4. Persaon 4 Arena Ultimax will feature new characters, new modes, and a new story, in addition to rebalanced versions of all the characters from Persona 4 Arena. The game will release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Japan on August 28, and in North America on September 30. The game’s story will take place a few days after the conclusion of Persona 4 Arena, and will deal with the Inaba Investigation Team discovering that the Midnight Channel is once again active. Other recently announced characters include Rise Kujikawa, Yukari Takeba, and Ken Amada and Koromaru, who will be fighting together as a pair.
For fans of the Persona franchise or Arc System Works, this game should be a treat. Make sure to stay tuned to oprainfall for more news about Persona 4 Arena Ultimax!
