Hakuoki Stories of the Shinsengumi LE | oprainfall

To the delight of otome fans, Hakuoki: Stories of the Shinsengumi limited edition has been released today. This is also the first otome game released for the PS3. For those not in the know; otome games are visual novels/dating sims that typically feature a female main character and a host of eligible bachelors. The Hakuoki series, specifically, is known for being a period piece with supernatural and romantic elements thrown in. While containing the same story as Hakukoi: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom that was released in 2012 for the PSP, this release contains over 20 hours of new content.

In Hakuoki: Stories of the Shinsengumi, Chizuru Yukimura travels to Kyoto to search for her missing father. Once she gets there, she is attacked by crazed men and soon held captive by the Shinsengumi for interrogation. Once it is discovered that they too are looking for her father, they keep her within the compound as an aide.
