This year will mark the 30th anniversary of the Transformers franchise, and Activision and Hasbro are celebrating this momentous occasion with the release of Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark. Set to release this June, Rise of the Dark Spark will be a crossover between the Michael Bay movie universe and High Moon-developed Cybertron games, and will feature over 40 playable characters from both series’. While the game is not being developed by High Moon, it will retain the same third-person action, vehicle-based gameplay, and the ability to play as both the Autobots and Decepticons.
Multiplayer will also be making a return, along with the popular Escalation game mode. This is a horde-based co-op mode in which players take on wave after wave of enemies. This title will also introduce a brand new level progression system, which will carry over various stats and bonuses between single player and multiplayer modes.
Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is set to launch this June for PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo 3DS, and PC.
