Drakengard 3 | oprainfall
Square Enix has announced the release date for the third entry in the Drakengard series, Drakengard 3. It is slated for physical and digital release on May 20th of this year in North America.  As for Europe, Square Enix has announced that the game will be sold a day after, on May 21st of this year, but still digital only.

Along with the release date, Square Enix has announced pre-order incentives and a Limited Edition set that is being sold only on their online store that uses Digital River. Here’s the rundown:

Fans who place their pre-order from today through March 3 will receive a special Japanese voiceover DLC and will automatically unlock the two yet-to-be-announced bonuses.  From March 4 to April 8, pre-ordering the game will unlock the two remaining unannounced bonuses. From April 9 until launch, fans will receive the final unannounced locked bonus only. However, pre-ordering the game before March 4 will net you all three bonuses.

Definitely waiting until this game is on Amazon. I don’t shop with Digital River. It’s really too bad, because I love the Drakengard/NieR universe.

    • Goose

I don’t think it’s going to make it on Amazon. If it is, the price is going to triple. Digital River sucks so goddamn much, I have to make a dozen e-mails for my pre-order for standard Drakengard 3 to go through and that’s not even guaranteed. It’s handled by the same people who had to cancel several Ni No Kuni CE preorders since they ‘received too much.’

Just give up unless yo’re willing to pay an exorbitent amount for it after it’s released. Fuck Digital River so much.

    • Tyrannikos

I don’t think it’ll hike the price up too much. If it does, I’m still willing to pay. I’ll go to ebay too.

Trust me, I know how Digital River handled the Ni no Kuni Wizard Edition preorders. I’m one of the people who got charged twice and never received the product. It’s the main reason I’m buying from a different party.

Sorry to tell you it’s EXCLUSIVE to Square-Enix store so. I bought the Ni No Kuni collector and had no trouble except being unable to be patient to receive it. took 2 week to come here in canada but i did receive it. Now i’m waiting for my copy of FF XIII: LR Collector and just ordered Drakengard Collector. 5k of unit? Well 2 of them will be mine… well one for me and the second for Ebay ahah!

    • Tyrannikos

I know it is. I’ve known that since October. What I’m saying is that I’ll buy it off someone who will inevitably put it up on Amazon or ebay. Like you. I’ll get the game, but I’m not going through Digital River for it. That’s all I’m saying.

    • tacodeman

Play-Asia is selling it on their site if you want to avoid Digital River. They are charging a decent premium on it though.

    • Tyrannikos

Yeah, I heard something about that. I was about to go for that deal when my friend offered to buy two Collector’s Editions and sell one to me. I’ll let her deal with Digital River and if something falls through, I’ll just buy a standard copy online somewhere else.

    Giant Baby Hat. Huh.
