Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate—Confirmed for the West

Did you catch the announcement of Monster Hunter 4G in Japan earlier this morning? In a surprise move similar to Bandai Namco and Tales of Zestiria, it only took Capcom a few hours to confirm that this game, under the title of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, will be headed to the West in 2015. Here’s a look at the official YouTube announcement, featuring Monster Hunter 4 producer Ryozo Tsujimoto:

Indeed, 2015 is a bit of a wait, but I think many would prefer that the definitive version of Monster Hunter 4 be localized. How many of you are excited? Be sure to let us know, and look for more Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate coverage in the not-too-distant future.

    Then i saw 2015………lol

I am just excited that it is coming over. I don’t mind the release date because I am not too happy about yearly franchises.

You know, I have a theory why we haven’t seen Bravely Default or Monster Hunter 4 here in the West for so long: Nintendo is doing the localization, and they don’t want to have Western consumers buy the same product twice. So, perhaps they knew that SE was planning For the Sequel much earlier than they announced it to the general public, so Nintendo waited. And we all knew that Monster Hunter 4G and 4 Ultimate were coming, so Nintendo waited for the official announcement.

Capcom’s treatment of this series is baffling.
