Space Dandy

Fans of Galaga and Space Dandy rejoice! Namco Bandai recently posted a new pair of ads for Space Galaga, an upcoming iOS/Android Galaga title based on Shinichiro Watanabe’s Space Dandy anime series. The game will feature ships, characters, and missions based upon the series, and will also feature competitive PvP game modes, customizable ships, and anime-based bosses. Here are the two latest trailers, along with the original which was posted about a month ago:

Unfortunately for now, it seems that Space Galaga will be a Japanese exclusive. However, North American fans of Space Dandy can check out the anime on Adult Swim’s Toonami block, and those of you in New Zealand and Australia will be able to stream the episodes.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Space Dandy is the latest science fiction comedy by Shinichiro Watanbe, creator of Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. It tells the story of Dandy, an alien hunter and “dandy guy in space” as he searches for aliens with his robot named QT and cat named Meow. Its outlandish and over-the-top comedy has earned it a lot of attention both in Japan and in the West. If you’re looking for more info, be sure to check out the Toonami trailer!
