Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX

D23, which has been held in the U.S. for a few years now, made its international debut in Japan this year. Possibly because they wanted to take advantage of a room full of Disney fans so close to home, Square Enix made an announcement that will be sure to excite Kingdom Hearts fans everywhere.

Square Enix has announced Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX. This will contain Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. All of these will be remastered in HD. They also showed off a pretty cool trailer featuring footage of the first Kingdom Hearts game in early development and revealed that Sora’s pants were almost going to be orange.

Speaking of trailers, here’s the debut trailer for the game, shown at D23:

D23 calls itself “The Official Disney Fan Club”. The “D” stems from the name “Disney” itself, and the “23” from 1923, the year Walt Disney founded what would become the company we all know today.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX will be available for the PS3 and has been confirmed by the official U.S. PlayStation blog to be “released globally” next year.

Be sure to check out the game’s official website.

Ok the only thing I’m concerned about is that it says Birth by Sleep and not BbS: Final Mix

Just wait for Press Release before getting concerned

It is definitely possible to port it over to the PS4, it would not be hard to do, even if they added a higher texture bump up for more resolution than on the PS3 and bundled 1.5 with 2.5 for $60 that would be worth paying for.

  • Johnson Cameron

The only thing i am dissapointed in was kingdom hearts 364 2 days not appearing on this, granted we had just the cutscenes on Kingdom Hearts 1.5, but it would have been nice to add kingdom hearts 364 2 days to Kingdom Hearts 2.5. But i have a feeling they will add those in Kingdom Hearts 3 as a bonus package.

this remix isnt complete they need the dream drop distance, the question is… why this remix series not appeared on nintendo consoles like the wii u they deserve it as well. ridiculous.

    • WishingTikal

Dream Drop Distance is still very new and selling on 3DS, they can’t include it in the package because it’s still being sold for the same price; they would lose money on the sale.

    • Inzanoflex

yeah… but still deserve it because they born on ps consoles first and get popular on nintendos side, so square enix better think again and put this great gems on both consoles as well, for them they get more sells.

  • I could not be happier to wake up to this news. A little “eh” on PS3-exclusivity versus PS4, but… I’ll hang onto my system a little longer to play. *___*

    • Inzanoflex

ehm, KH3 is coming to xbone… so who cares about exclusivity after all

    …Yay remakes

I wish these were PSN available. With the PS4 not being backwards compatible but might be for PSN games via Gaikai it could have a longer use life. I’m keeping my PS2 around for the originals so it’d be nice to get the remasters, but not if I’m locked into keeping yet another console around.
