Soul Calibur Feature - oprainfall

In the latest issue of Famitsu, we learned that Soul Calibur: Lost Swords is heading to the PlayStation 3. This version of Soul Calibur will be a bit different, since it will be free to play. Included among the characters will be Siegfried and Mitsurugi. Other sources have confirmed that it will be a Sony exclusive and will be available in Europe as well as Japan, with a North American release also being very likely.

Nothing else is known about the game at this time, but speculation is that a small group of fighters will be available in the free-to-play game, and you will have to purchase any additional fighters. Again, that is only speculation based on what Namco Bandai has done recently. No news yet on a Vita or PlayStation 4 version of the game.

We will keep you up to date on any further news about the game. Would you be interested in a free-to-play Soul Calibur game if it involves buying fighters, or would you rather just purchase the game in its entirety?

Sounds like the Soul Calibur Equivalent to Tekken Revolution both of which are namco series’s and both ps3 exclusive

  • Luis Kråke

    I <3 ScoulCalibur

  • Bakuryukun

Man I’d rather just own all the characters up front.

    • Bec66

Well they have to make money off a free to play game somehow.

  • DigDugDude

Seems cool, I just hope it doesn’t have the same system as Tekken Revolution.

It’s novel and fun at first, but then you kinda wish they just had regular online play and just buy which characters you want, rather than leave it all up to chance with who you get.

Either way, I’m still hyped for Soul Calibur 2 HD!

Give me old school Raphael or Amy and I’m game

What is with all these fighters going free-to-play these days?
