Yakuza 1 & 2

While Satoru Iwata announced a new Mario & Sonic Olympics game and a new Sonic game during the North American and European Nintendo Directs, there was one other SEGA game they left out. During the Japanese Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced that SEGA will be bringing an HD collection of both Yakuza 1 & 2 to the Wii U. This collection includes special features specific to the Wii U, which naturally includes off-TV play. No release date was given as of this writing.

It’s worth mentioning that Yakuza 5, which was released last year on the PS3, still hasn’t been given an international release yet. Here’s hoping that both of these games will see an international release.

About Kyle Emch

Kyle has been studying music at college for about three years now. He's played the piano since he was 6 years old and has been recently been learning how to write music. He has followed the Operation Rainfall movement on Facebook since it started and was happy to volunteer for the website. Just don't mention Earthbound or the Mother franchise around him.

  • Man I hope both these games get western release. Yakuza has been one of my favorite series on PS3, and it’s good to see them giving some love to the Wii U as well.

  • What the heck? A Nintendo console getting an M-rated HD collection of a third-party series? Now, there’s something you don’t see every day.

  • RagunaXL

i’d like to play those games. I moved out and left the ps2 behind before the yakuza series rolled out. hope they make a US release!

  • Sounds awesome!
