Fusing Demons in SMT IV

It looks like Atlus is going to be taking a little bit of the tedium out of fusing demons in Shin Megami Tensei IV. In other entries in the series, fusing demons with just the right set of skills was a bit of a trial and error process. Depending on what camp you fall in, that may not be conducive to a fun game. In Shin Megami Tensei IV, the player will have access to a compendium detailing the demons’ skills. They will also be given recipes for fusions and the ability to choose the skills their new demon will get. Finally, anyone who doesn’t want to fuse demons themselves will be able to choose from a list of recommended fusions, having the game take care of the hard work for them.

Check out the videos below to see the fusion system. (videos provided by Siliconera):

About Frank Urbanski

A lover of all things video game, Frank foolishly decided to ignore his dream of becoming a writer, and instead got a degree in Biology. It's possible that someone, somewhere might someday need a detailed phylogeny of the Goomba clade, and if that day comes Frank would gladly help. Until then, however, he's happy to flex his writing muscles with the rest of the oprainfall staff.
