Castle of Illusion 2

Sega and Disney Interactive have collaborated on the release of an HD remake for Castle of Illusion, to be available this summer. The game will  will be available on Microsoft XBLA, Sony PSN and the PC.

This will be a complete re-imagining of the original that released in 1990 on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. The game originally boasted excellent music and graphics and the remake will continue on with that tradition. The original storyline will be kept in place and players will be challenged to save Minnie from Mizrabel with new gameplay and an updated look.

Chris Olson, the vice president of digital business for Sega of America’s, said: “The original Castle of Illusion was tremendously entertaining and has a well-deserved reputation as a Sega classic. Castle of Illusion Featuring Mickey Mouse brings this great game to a new generation. Mickey is back and he looks fantastic.”

About Crystal Colwell

What's up everyone? Crystal here! I spend my time writing up the news for you all and keeping us all up to date with incoming game info from Japan. I do a little bit of everything else around here, too. 🙂 Happy Reading!

  • I thought this was supposed to be on Wii U as well. Too bad it’s apparently not, but at least it’s getting DuckTales.

    • Originally it was thought to be coming for the Vita as well but it seems that is not the case.

    • Are you sure about that? “The game will will be available on Microsoft XBLA, Sony PSN and the PC.”
