Sega and Disney Interactive have collaborated on the release of an HD remake for Castle of Illusion, to be available this summer. The game will will be available on Microsoft XBLA, Sony PSN and the PC.
This will be a complete re-imagining of the original that released in 1990 on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. The game originally boasted excellent music and graphics and the remake will continue on with that tradition. The original storyline will be kept in place and players will be challenged to save Minnie from Mizrabel with new gameplay and an updated look.
Chris Olson, the vice president of digital business for Sega of America’s, said: “The original Castle of Illusion was tremendously entertaining and has a well-deserved reputation as a Sega classic. Castle of Illusion Featuring Mickey Mouse brings this great game to a new generation. Mickey is back and he looks fantastic.”
