Spiral Knights has a new class of monsters to fight and a new set of levels to explore.  These new mini monsters, or “minis” for short, are roaming about in the Clockworks. One at a time the minis will be very manageable but players should be on the lookout for swarms of them! The minis will eventually find their way into more levels with future updates.

Mini monsters include:

  • Dust Bunnies:
  • Glop Drops:
  • Grave scarabs:

A new dangerous area has been added to the game as well, known as The Compounds. This area is the remains of some unknown and mysterious facility. Eerie, right? The Compounds have more intelligent monsters who have been busy harvesting the area’s resources. Could these intelligent monsters be trying to power up the derelict machinery in the area? It seems very likely!

The Compounds:

  • Unique levels that combine two monster families.
  • Will only appear on Tier 2 and 3 of the Clockworks.
  • Will only appear in the arcade and will soon be added to some missions.

The Compound Levels:

  • Ruined Compound: Creeping Colony
  • Ruined Compound: Ravenous Warrens
  • Ruined Compound: Chittering Burrows
  • Charred Compound: Creeping Colony
  • Charred Compound: Ravenous Warrens
  • Charred Compound: Chittering Burrows
  • Frozen Compound: Creeping Colony
  • Frozen Compound: Ravenous Warrens
  • Frozen Compound: Chittering Burrows
  • Blighted Compound: Creeping Colony
  • Blighted Compound: Ravenous Warrens
  • Blighted Compound: Chittering Burrows
  • Shocked Compound: Creeping Colony
  • Shocked Compound: Ravenous Warrens
  • Shocked Compound: Chittering Burrows

Miscellaneous fixes in the game from the update include:

  • In the Firestorm Citadel, rockets will not sneak behind barriers any more.
  • The going ‘Back to Haven’ in Guild Halls has been fixed.
