Sword Art Online

You may remember that we covered Sword Art Online last year during its original run in Japan. Back then we could only wonder when it was going to be announced for an English release. Just recently, Aniplex USA confirmed that they will be releasing the series with an English dub, and that it will be featured as part of Neon Alley’s streaming service. Today Aniplex posted a trailer that features Kirito, Asuna, and a few other characters speaking in English.

What do you think of Bryce Papenbrook (Masaomi Kida in Durarara!!, Rin Okumura in Blue Exorcist) as Kirito and Cherami Leigh (Lucy Heartfilia in Fairy Tail, Shana in Shakugan no Shana) as Asuna? As one of 2012’s most popular anime series there will be many high expectations for the cast.

Also, if you’re a fan of Sword Art Online and you’d like to see what fellow oprainfall commentators thought about the series after it finished airing, check this out.

  • Is this a game, or an anime? On that note – does anyone have any information as to when the new Sailor Moon will be airing, or what channel it will be on?

    • its a anime but there a psp game out base on this anime which is very good

    • Sword Art Online was originally a series of light novels. They were adapted into an anime series and a PSP title was created. It’s likely that with the success of the first season that there will be more episodes coming in the future.

    • Randy_Thompson

The most recent news on the new 2013 Sailor Moon is Summer, but there hasn’t been any more recent word about the show. As for the channel, if it airs on the same one as the original show, expect to see it on TV Asahi first.

    • Not only is it a light novel and an anime, but it is a PSP game as well (Japan only so far, unfortunately…).

  • The english voice acting of SAO is not that bad and very quality, i am being honest, if you compared to some other anime’s english voices translate it more worst.

  • Hiro Masamune

The game is great but the anime is rubbish.

  • An Tran

I like Klein’s English voice more than Kirito’s and Asuna’s.

  • Asuna’s voice should be slightly higher pitched in my opinion, but everything else is actually not that bad!

Can’t wait to see its DVD getting a European release, in the near future. Hopefully… It… will get a European release right?
