Update: This is an April Fools Joke for 2013.

Please note, due to the nature of this article it contains spoilers for Catherine.

Yes, you heard right! Atlus has announced that there is a new Catherine game in the works! Simply titled Catherine 2 for now, this next installment begins shortly after where the first one left off. With the slew of endings Catherine had, you might be wondering where exactly that is. Well, according to what Atlus has released about Catherine 2, the True Catherine ending is the canon ending! I’m honestly ecstatic that the True Catherine ending is canon. It’s so ridiculously hilarious, I almost can’t take it. If you haven’t seen the True Catherine ending, here it is. (and my, are you in for a treat!) Be warned, video may be NSFW:

Living in the underworld, it seems Vincent has become a powerful demon. He has his love, Catherine, and an entire harem of succubi. Nergal, Catherine’s father and god of the underworld, has grown increasingly frustrated by Vincent’s newfound power and is tired of tolerating him. This is what sparks the story of Catherine 2. The game will still feature the franchise’s addicting block-climbing puzzle gameplay, but beyond that the details are still hazy at this point.

What do you think? What platforms will it be on? Will Vincent’s demonic powers add a new mechanic to the block climbing gameplay? Which side will Catherine take? Will she side with Vincent, or has she become jealous of his harem? Will Katherine somehow make an appearance? More importantly will The Midnight Venus Trisha’s hair make an appearance? Instead of Freedom versus Chaos, what theme might this game have? Post your theories in the comments below.

Despite the fact that I never saw this coming, I’m pretty pumped for Catherine 2! Here’s hoping the second game is as impressive as the first!
