If you did not know, finding a copy of Xenoblade Chronicles has become increasingly challenging. Used copies will cost you over $100 on eBay or Amazon in most cases. Even if you do find it, you’ll be lucky to get the case and cover art included. A sealed copy will cost you around $150, and sometimes over $200! The reason being is that Xenoblade Chronicles was a limited released game in North America, which means it has become quite rare. Nintendo could stop this price inflation simply by reprinting the game.

A campaign has been started to try and convince Nintendo to do just that. They just started and are looking for your support. You can find them on Facebook:

Their about page reads:

“A page created to get Nintendo to reprint Xenoblade Chronicles in the UK and US. Please sign the petition!”

F that. Make it available in HD on the Wii U’s eShop.

    • Ryan_oprainfall

If people show Nintendo there is still an interest in Xenoblade, such as by supporting this campaign, they may do just that.

    • Aye, digital download makes more sense. I can empathize with those that missed out, but I wouldn’t ask for pity in return, were it me in their shoes. Reprints cost alot, and ultimately affect a company’s other projects in the process, because a group of people didn’t make getting this game a priority when it first came out. Harsh as it may sound, I won’t sign this petition. Maybe if it were a digital re-release on the Wii U instead.

How do reprints cost more than making an entire new game though? It costs several millions to make brand new games, while you can get free guarenteed money off a game that already exists?

  • It’s ridiculous how rare this game is. I’m glad I preordered my copy, although this is one of the few reasons why I’d preorder a game.

  • good thing i preordered and picked up my copy on release day, and right now im playing Macross 30, FexEx is scary they delivered the game in 1 day

  • Ara? Money making opportunity for a game I don’t even like?

  • Pyrotek85

I had no idea it was this rare, I ordered it fairly recently (new) from Gamestop last summer/fall. I actually hope they’ll do an HD port on the Wii U.

What would be good is a HD Trilogy of Xenoblade, The Last Story and Pandora’s Tower.

  • Vinicius

When the game was released I delayed buying the game because of priorities. I’m glad I bought it next month on the first oppotunity, even if costed me R$170(this is what as costing at it’s release in Brazil)

  • An Tran

I can get it at a nearby Gamestop with the game inside a cheap broken black DVD case.
    …Reprint please.

  • NinjaApe

How many copies did they print?

    • Ryan_oprainfall

      Not enough…

But seriously, nobody knows that but Nintendo and maybe GameStop

  • bleachedsnow

Huh, I didn’t know copies of Xenoblade have become so rare…and I thought Radiant Historia had inflated prices. More Xenoblade can’t hurt, I could use it for my future Wii.

    • Lunastaria SpiritDiva

Hehe, Its no big deal if I never buy this game, it isn’t like there aren’t endless games as it is, but they are just losing guarenteed money if they refuse to print more copies. They release low rated junk games every month, and they can’t make enough copies for highly rated successes? I could just go back to playing my old Playstation 1 Xenogears and Playstation 2 Xenosaga…

  • Vallen

I hope this works cause I still need to pick up xenoblade!!

  • Desend

Bleh, I just bought one off of eBay for $98. I’d download it as a digital copy on the wii u though.

  • Link

Why don’t they just sell the reprints on amazon?

  • Lunastaria SpiritDiva

Please make more , I’d love to buy this on the Wii, I never found many games worth buying for that system .

  • AngryShopper

Perhaps you really should be petitioning GameStop. The “exclusive” deal may have something to do with no reprints. They now actually contact “power up” rewards members to invite them to trade in specific rare games (like Xenoblade Chronicles), at rates like 30 bucks credit, and then sell for about 90. For each “used” game they can pull this with, that’s 60 bucks of money they get without a dime going to Nintendo. If they had new copies to sell at 60 bucks, assuming 90% (54 bucks) of that would go to Nintendo, then GameStop would need to sell TEN NEW COPIES (6 bucks profit each) to equal the profit of ONE used game trade and sale. Plus, most who bought the game in the first place were GameStop shoppers – whom might simply sell the game not realizing it’s rare.
