OFF-TV PLAY AND CROSS-REGION ONLINE PLAY COMING TO MONSTER HUNTER 3 ULTIMATE on Wii U

Monster HunterTM 3 Ultimate to receive April software update and free of charge downloadable quests

28th February 2013 – Capcom® and Nintendo have today confirmed that following the 22 March release of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for Wii U™, a software update will be released in April as a response to Capcom community feedback.

The software update will add online cross-region functionality, allowing European and North American gamers to play together online in up to four-player battles*. Monster Hunters will also be able to play the game using just the Wii U GamePad without the need for a TV screen as the software update makes the title compatible with off-TV play.

Capcom will be continuing to support Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for several months after release with additional free of charge downloadable quests. The first quest will be available at launch.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate releases across Europe on 22 March for both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS™, both at retail as well as on Nintendo eShop.

* Online play for gamers in Europe and North America will be completely free to play, although broadband Internet charges still apply.

    battles or hunts?

    • Charlotte Buckingham

      I would assume hunts.

  • Charlotte Buckingham

This is fantastic! I’ll be able to hunt with all the other staff members now! 😀

Still Wanting bundles 3ds xl especially

  • Hells yeah! 😀 *pumps fist*

  • I am behind this big-time. I know Capcom wanted to use the Game Pad to complement the action going on on the TV screen, but Monster Hunter seems like a great game to include Game Pad-only gameplay.

    • Charlotte Buckingham

I figure, GamePad-only play will work just like the 3DS.
