The newest Fire Emblem: Awakening trailer, titled “Building Your Army” was just released today. In it, we are introduced to some of the characters in the game, including Chrom, Lissa, and Frederick.
In the section titled “Support Your Allies,” the trailer introduces a new system where two characters can team up against one enemy. Fighting together will give characters stat boosts, raising certain abilities. Supporting characters can also assist the main attackers by defending or attacking. This feature seems reminiscent of the “Triangle Attack” from previous games. However, it should be much easier to execute, since only two characters are needed and there are no class limitations. “Pairing Up” is another feature that allows characters to strengthen their bonds.
The trailer looks great and, personally, I can’t wait for Fire Emblem: Awakening to come out. The game is scheduled for a North American release on February 4, 2013.
