Fresh off of the disappointment fans felt after the news of the iOS port for Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy, Square decided to announce a new entry in the Mana series that will surely make them happy. This new title is Holy Sword Legend: Circle of Mana. It will be available on mobile platforms…as a social game, via GREE. Because if there’s one thing fans have shown undying love for, it’s for social/free-to-play games on mobile devices.

Circle of Mana will be a card battling RPG that features characters from all Mana games, including the Japan-exclusive Seiken Densetsu 3. The game will be available on iOS and Android devices sometime in 2013.

About Kyle Emch

Kyle has been studying music at college for about three years now. He's played the piano since he was 6 years old and has been recently been learning how to write music. He has followed the Operation Rainfall movement on Facebook since it started and was happy to volunteer for the website. Just don't mention Earthbound or the Mother franchise around him.

Oh wait its a card battling game? They can keep that shit.

I really wanted a Wii U retail local multiplayer enabled action JRPG.

  • Well if it’s a Card Battling game, that is a bit more acceptable. I’m into card games, so I think this isn’t a terrible thing. But a new, real Mana game would be nice too please

  • Begone, Square Enix.

I seriously don’t know what it’s going to take for fanboys to get fed up with this crap and stop catering to this company. They’ve made a few games worth mention, sure, and published a bunch of good games and took the credit for them, but the days of Squaresoft are long gone.

The merger was the worst thing to happen to the two companies, and I am counting the days when they are finally off the market. Good riddance.

    •   I honestly don’t know what you are smoking… seriously.  Square Enix is doing perfectly fine, its the fan-base that is getting TOO picky and spiteful/hateful and frankly don’t seem to like anything thrown their way.  Most of the hate thrown at SE seems full of tripe and the hate for FF XIIII makes no sense at all especially when I never saw that kind of hate for X-2 / VIII / XII and those games were considerably worse even considering how picky people are.

Of course they are going to end up giving us crap from time to time, but I don’t see how some crap vs plenty of goodness equates to needing them off the market…

Zyzxx is absolutely right.  SE has successfully desecrated the Mana and FF series’.

Honestly?  You expect us to be happy about a company making crap even SOMETIMES and wanting our money?  Get fucking REAL.  Nintendo doesn’t make crap from time to time, its 2% of the time, VERY rare.  SE does whatever they want to any series they want and mindless idiots defend the complete rubbish they create.

FFS why isn’t Secret of Mana on the 3DS eShop?  Because SE doesn’t give a FUCK about the Mana series or what their fans want.
