Treasure, the Japanese game developer behind games such as Gunstar Heroes, Ikaruga, and Sin and Punishment, has revealed plans to create a 3DS exclusive game!

Treasure CEO Masato Maegawa has stated, “We are making a new game on Nintendo 3DS now. Not multi-platform but exclusive to the 3DS.” Maegawa was also reported as saying: “We are committed to a new game for the Nintendo 3DS. Although the game is not to be considered in the multiplayer mode, you can be sure that this new game is 3DS dedicated.” Masato Maegawa also declared: “This game is fighting the main fight.” He declined to comment more, but we will be keeping up with this news and alerting you of any further details.

Nintendo fans have already began speculating as to which game could be coming and are naturally excited.. As of right now, nothing is confirmed to be released in North America, but it is always a mood lifter to speculate on what game we may be getting to play next. Could the next Treasure game be a shooter that follows in the footsteps of fan favorites Radiant Silvergun or Sin and Punishment, or could it be something new entirely? Leave your thoughts, hopes, and dreams in the comments!

Yes! Treasure! Anything by Treasure! I don’t care what genre it is, it’ll be awesome regardless.

Also, I noticed that that Nintendo Life article has a link to this: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2012/09/meet_kokuga_the_3ds_shooter_from_the_man_behind_ikaruga
That looks fairly interesting, though I suppose it’s odds of localization are slim to none.
