SEGA recently announced a western release date for its Platinum Games developed brawler, Anarchy Reigns. This game is affectionately considered the “spiritual successor to MadWorld”.

Anarchy Reigns  is an online multiplayer brawler. On January 8, 2013 Western gamers can rejoice in some fun filled co-op or last man standing battles. The player can control one of various types of fighters. Multiplayer Modes include Tag Team, Battle Royale, Death Match, Capture the Flag, and Survival.

Here’s some words from SEGA:

Set in the post-apocalyptic future, this is an over-the-top close combat fighting game, set in a massively open and fantastical world. Pick from an imaginative mix of human and cyborg characters and set out on a multiplayer challenge where anarchy reigns.

With a diverse range of multiplayer modes on offer, ANARCHY REIGNS pits players against each other in team co-op or last man standing battles.

For those curious, characters said to make a return from MadWorld include Jack Cayman (pictured above), Blacker Baron, Mathilda, Big Bull, and Rin Rin. The game also features several new characters to join the fray. More information about Anarchy Reigns can be found at its official website below. We also know that Bayonetta (the character) was featured as DLC in Japan. Could American fans see this Platinum Games crossover DLC as well?

    And its only $30 too.
