PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

Good news for Sony fans.  Starting on October 16, 2012, PlayStation 3 owners who are also PlayStation Plus members as well as all PlayStation Vita owners will be able to play the beta version of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.  Featuring famous characters from a plethora of series, players will be able to fight as Big Daddy from Bioshock, Raiden from Metal Gear Solid, Dante from Devil May Cry, Kratos from God of War, and many more.  Since PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is a multiplayer game, up to four players can battle one another in arenas from different Sony games.

The beta will run for two weeks, from October 16 to October 30.  For PlayStation 3 owners who aren’t PlayStation members – don’t fret, after the first week, the beta will go public on October 23 and be open to anyone who would like to try the game.

The actual North American release date for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is scheduled to be November 20, 2012, and it is available for pre-order.

Will it ever achieve the same popularity as the Super Smash Brothers franchise?  Only time will tell.
