Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5

Last week Square Enix announced Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX at the Tokyo Game Show, but now it seems the game may not leave Japan. Gematsu reports that a Square Enix rep told them that “The recent KINGDOM HEARTS -HD 1.5 ReMIX- announcement was only for the Japanese market.”  Whether this means European and North American releases are still being considered or if they have been dismissed remains to be seen.

For those who don’t know, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX will be for the PS3 and will include Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, and a “Full Remake Theater” of cut scenes from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days all remastered in HD. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX will have PlayStation 3 trophy support functionality.

  • they obviously mean they only announced it for the japanese market last week. Doesn’t mean it’s never coming. Kind of a misleading title.

I will cry if we don’t get this. Legit tears.

  • We need this more than they do! D:<

  • We NEED this collection!  I want to see Roxas, Axel, and Xion on top of the clock tower in HD!!!! (Oh, and Final Mix is quite nice.  XD)  My first KH game was 358/2 Days.

  • In a perfect world, this would mean that the west was getting KH2 as part of the collection as well.
    A man can dream…

  • I want the remix to be published to everywhere. And why it won’t be made to Wii?

  • Of course Square isn’t going to release this in america… it would take about a week’s worth of effort to translate the few pieces of Final Mix that aren’t already in English because of th eoriginal KH release.I am a huge Square fanboy but face it guys.. they don’t give a shit about their fans or their customers.

“I am a huge Square fanboy but face it guys.. they don’t give a shit about their fans or their customers.”

      Finally someone gets it!

I am willing to bet a free copy of a North American KH HD 1.5 that it will NEVER come to the US.

And I already called it when this included KH: Final Mix.

So, not to put the Square Enix fanboys’ panties in a twist but…

    DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH.

  • I’ll put it like this – usually when Square-Enix makes a big announcement and it’s planned for a western release as well, they make it known right off the bat. Look at how quick they were to talk about all the continuations of Final Fantasy XIII. But what about Dragon Quest X? We *still* have no word on it. Why? Because they’ve absolutely stopped publishing the series here. We have to wait for Nintendo to do it.

Square-Enix, at this point, really only cares about pushing as much of Final Fantasy XIII to a global market. That and if it does turn out to be Japanese only, it’s likely because they can’t be bothered to take the voice work from the three games and implant them into the collection and get the lip flaps to match.

    • that’s never the case with KH, they usually announce them separately and they make different trailers for them so just wait
