1. Final Fantasy IX

Surprised?

Final Fantasy IX was the ‘final’ game, in the series, to be released on the PSone, and what a swan song it was. After the huge impact of VII and the dividing opinions of VIII, many wondered if IX could live up to the Final Fantasy hype train; that would soon be changing tracks and heading onto the PlayStation 2. Operation Rainfall believes it certainly did, in so many ways. IX is known as the ‘pure’ Final Fantasy game of the PSone, featuring whimsical lands, castles and princesses, dragons, knights and a sprightly hero — it made a refreshing change to the previous games and the angst-y protagonists that came with them.

Without a doubt, Final Fantasy IX is worthy of our No 1 spot.

David Rawlings
David Rawlings, or ‘Rawky’ as we like to call him, joined the Operation Rainfall Campaign at the beginning. He’s British and found solace with us as he was able to understand our pain about Nintendo and their localizing faux pas. He’s a big fan of the letter ‘U’ and refuses to remove them from words, even though we constantly ask him to. He also believes it’s about time Princess Daisy got kidnapped.
