For those of you in North America hoping for a release of Inazuma Eleven, there’s some great news for you on Nintendo’s official site. If you check out the release calendar for North America this year and scroll down to the “Coming Soon” category, you’ll see that Inazuma Eleven is listed for Q1 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS. Although there’s yet to be an official announcement, this seems like a pretty good indication that the game will be coming to North America early this year.
Inazuma Eleven is a sports role-playing game developed and published by Level-5 for the Nintendo 3DS. It follows the story of Mark Evans, a promising goalkeeper, and his quest to create a soccer team at his school. There are two distinct types of gameplay, with one resembling a typical RPG with exploration and battles, and the other consisting of soccer matches played with the stylus.
Inazuma Eleven was first released in Japan all the way back in 2008 and made it to Europe in 2011. Since then, it has spawned quite a few sequels for the DS, 3DS and the Wii, a number of which have also been released in Europe. None of the games have made it to North America yet, but now it seems we’ll be seeing our very first one on the 3DS sometime this year. This doesn’t come as a huge surprise, however, since a U.S. trademark was recently registered for the series. Although we can’t say anything for sure until we receive an official announcement, the evidence suggests that North America will be getting Inazuma Eleven very soon!
