Even those who aren’t big fans of anime probably heard of Little Witch Academia, a 30 minute animated film by Studio Trigger. This little masterpiece was confirmed to be getting a Blu-ray release to North America earlier this summer, but there was more to this story than anyone anticipated.
Being distributed by Acttil, Little Witch Academia is also getting a collector’s edition that will include the film itself, a 66 minute Making-of video, an original soundtrack CD, and a 112 page art book. There is an added bonus in all this, as the disc will include English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Chinese subtitles.
In another big piece of news, there will also be a Little Witch Academia fan event with the film’s writer Masahiko Otsuka attending at Anime Expo 2013. Those who which to attend this showing, you have to be aware that this event will be letting only 50 people in, and that it will be on July 6th at 2:00 pm. If you want to be selected as one of these lucky 50 people, send your full name, address, and phone number to [email protected] by June 26th.
Little Witch Academia follows the tale of an apprentice witch named Akko Kagari, who joins the academy for young witches after she gets inspired by a witch named Shiny Chariot at a young age.
Those who wish to see the 30 minute film, Acttil has put up a stream for anyone to watch, which includes English subtitles. However, this stream will be brought down by the end of June, so don’t dilly dally.
