D23, which has been held in the U.S. for a few years now, made its international debut in Japan this year. Possibly because they wanted to take advantage of a room full of Disney fans so close to home, Square Enix made an announcement that will be sure to excite Kingdom Hearts fans everywhere.
Square Enix has announced Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX. This will contain Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. All of these will be remastered in HD. They also showed off a pretty cool trailer featuring footage of the first Kingdom Hearts game in early development and revealed that Sora’s pants were almost going to be orange.
Speaking of trailers, here’s the debut trailer for the game, shown at D23:
D23 calls itself “The Official Disney Fan Club”. The “D” stems from the name “Disney” itself, and the “23” from 1923, the year Walt Disney founded what would become the company we all know today.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX will be available for the PS3 and has been confirmed by the official U.S. PlayStation blog to be “released globally” next year.
