Those who eagerly waited to see the new Hotline Miami game can have their wish, as Digital Devolver posted the teaser for Dennaton Games’ Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. The game’s existence was confirmed at E3 last week with a playable demo, but there was no teaser of some kind online until just recently.
Like the first game, it uses character sprites at a top-down perspective, with uncompromising gore that fills the screen with pixelated death. The teaser presents itself with visual throwbacks like in the first Miami Hotline. Unlike the first game with its 80’s neon colors, this one brings out a 90’s feel with bad VHS feeds. Anybody remember VHS?
You can watch the video (no pun intended) down below:
According to Digital Devolver, Hotline Miami 2 is supposed to be a “brutal conclusion to the gruesome saga”, as the series of events from the first game have built up to a breaking point of violence. You will play as multiple characters with their own objectives and styles of execution. Their stories will intersect with one another, followed by a massive bloodbath.
Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is due at the later quarter for 2013 for PC, Mac, and Linux.
Meanwhile, a Twitter post teased the release date for the PlayStation 3 and Vita versions of Hotline Miami. The post stated that the game is “probably” due next week, there is a lot of chatter happening online. The announcement for the PlayStation ports of Hotline Miami were made last February.
