This morning brings something interesting to contemplate from Game Freak, the masterminds behind the Pokemon franchise. They launched a teaser website that only houses the image seen above and links in which to spread it around via social media. And here’s, more or less, what they had to say about it:
“The well known game, played all around the world, is about to be reborn thanks to a surprising collaboration.”
…POKEMON CONQUEST 2 CONFIRMED! …That was a joke. But, suffice to say, if the “well-known game, played around the world” is referring to Pokemon, that’s something to think about. There are plenty of possibilities; this news no doubt has Pokemon fans in a frenzy. Since Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are launching worldwide this October, I wonder if we’ll hear about what this new collaboration is sooner rather than later. Is it finally time for another take on Pokemon Stadium for Wii U?
…But what if it’s not Pokemon-related at all? Fans of truly niche games are no doubt familiar with some of GameFreak’s non-Pokemon outings like Pulseman or HarmoKnight. I’m curious to see what comes of this.
