Finally, after opening the main website for Fairy Fencer F, Compile Heart has released official new screenshots for the fantasy-based game, making its in-game stills available for all to see. Fairy Fencer F was once called Galapagos RPG, and includes character designs by Tsunako, with concept art by Yoshitaka Amano, and music by Nobuo Uematsu and his band, the Earthbound Papas.
The game is developed by Team Neptune. You can view the screenshots below:
Fairy Fencer F appears to have a turn-based setting, as the buttons mapped on the HUD screen imply that they are meant for commanding attacks. Both your characters, or Fencers, are aligned at the opposite side against enemies that are anticipating your attacks. The chart at the left side of screen, with alphabetical letters next to the enemies’ icons may hint their attack flow, followed by your characters’ attack order. The game is supposed to have a combo-attack system, but more information about this feature is yet to be revealed.
We also get to see Tiara, one of the two girls from the illustration art, in action. She is the Fencer who gets rescued by the protagonist, Fang, who in turn becomes a Fencer himself as a result. These characters have weapons called Furies, which you can see Tiara hold in several of the images above. They have magical powers, and are supposed to get stronger upon defeating enemies.
Fairy Fencer F is scheduled this year for PlayStation 3. Stay tuned for more details.
