On the eve of the European and Australian release of Bravely Default, it seems that a sequel to the game has officially been confirmed for Japan. This week’s issue of Jump revealed that Bravely Second, a sequel to Bravely Default, will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS. Although the article did not share much–such as any sort of release date–it did introduce a new face: Magnolia, a silver-haired character who is “clad in the moon” (pictured above).
Just a few months ago, Square Enix trademarked both Bravely Second and Bravely Third, meaning that this announcement is not a huge surprise. It’s also notable that we’re likely to see another entry in the series as Bravely Third was also trademarked.
However, this is certainly exciting news for JRPG fans, especially since the original game is just about to come Westward. Collector’s editions have been confirmed for Europe and North America. If you’re in Europe or Australia, you can pick up the game this week. Unfortunately, those of us in North America will have to wait until February. If you’re looking for more on Bravely Default, be sure to check out the latest trailer. And if you can’t wait for Bravely Second, be sure to stay tuned for more news on the upcoming game!
