Following our previous article on Natural Doctrine, the first game to be developed by Kodokawa Games, new details and screenshots have been posted by the official Japanese PlayStation website.
According to the PlayStation website, as translated by Gematsu, Natural Doctrine takes place in a world where humans live under threat by subspecies and other races with swords and magic. The story follows the guards of a mining group who dream for a fortified city, only to have their world change according to the great Natural Doctrine.

When the trailer first aired, the game initially had a gritty presentation from its dark brown and gray color tones, but the select images present a more colorful presentation — though the monster designs still convey a sense of edginess. From the way each character is aligned on the map, it appears to follow the traditional grid-based set-up like that of isometric SRPGs with a camera placed behind the playable unit, but this has yet to be determined by further updates.
Kodokawa Games’ fantasy strategy-RPG, Natural Doctrine, will be available for PlayStation 3, PS Vita, and PlayStation 4. Home console versions are both available on Blu-ray and digital download. The game has both single-player and multiplayer modes, though its maximum number of players has yet to be determined. It also supports the Vita’s second-screen functionality as well as external PlayStation apps, and will definitely support the cross-play functionality.
The game is scheduled for release on February 22, 2014, the same day the PlayStation 4 launches.
