Namco Bandai has announced that One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 will be arriving in North America on September 3rd. Unfortunately for some, this will be a digital only release, with the North American region being the only one not receiving a physical release.
Developed by Tecmo Koei, this One Piece game will play very much like the Dynasty Warriors franchise. Players take control of one of the main cast of characters and tear through armies of enemies.
As a sequel to One Piece: Pirate Warriors, this new title will take place in the “New World” arc of the One Piece anime/manga series and will offer a variety of characters to play as, ranging from both the protagonists and antagonists of the popular series.
Some new characters revealed today were Sir Crocodile, Marshall D. Teach, and Dracule Mihawk.
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 is exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and the PS Vita, but the Vita version will only be available in Japan. North America will be receiving the PlayStation 3 version in digital format on September 3rd. Europe will be seeing both a digital and physical release of this title on August 30th.
