The Kickstarter campaign for a sequel to Little Witch Academia, which is winding down after starting a month ago, has officially reached its stretch goals. Little Witch Academia is a fantasy animated short which tells the story of Akko Kagari and her adventures at an academy for young witches. Due to the popularity of the short, the Kickstarter campaign was launched to fund a sequel. It has been confirmed that a Blu-Ray release of the original will be coming to North America, and that the collector’s edition is also on its way here.
So what can backers expect (besides the cute little thank you doodle featured below) now that the Kickstarter has reached its stretch goal of $500,000? Those who are receiving a standard copy of the Blu-ray release (those who donated $50 or more) can now expect audio commentary as well as a “making of” documentary. Those backers who pledged enough for the limited edition Blu-ray (those who pledged $100 or more) will get an original soundtrack and a line art collection book.
There you have it folks! If you’re a backer, congrats on your extras, and if you’d still like to support it the Kickstarter will be up for a few more days. If you’ve yet to check out the original Little Witch Academia, it’s available subtitled on Crunchyroll and YouTube.
