With the release of Muramasa Rebirth yesterday, Aksys Games posted a launch trailer for the updated release on the PlayStation Vita. A montage of what to expect- a bit of story, a demonstration the fast-paced gameplay, the pristine level of quality of the beautiful work on the 2-D drawn sprites, backgrounds/foregrounds, and animations are all on display. It’s all the standard fare that you’d expect from Vanillaware.
You can check out the trailer below:
Originally released on the Nintendo Wii back in 2009, Muramasa: The Demon Blade was one of the reasons to own a Wii. While the presentation alone gave the game merit among its peers, you need solid gameplay, and Vanillaware delivered. You can easily tell it was labor of love, considering it had a good amount of replay value with multiple endings. Though its original localization was spotty at best, Aksys Games reworked all of it with this updated port. Muramasa Rebirth received a much-needed fix to really show the game’s nuances with dialogue, and having the menus, items and descriptions being properly shown. Higher resolutions that really show off the game’s already impressive visuals, a good few extra pieces of content, and being able to play this gem on the go; what more could you ask for?
Muramasa Rebirth is also available on the PlayStation Network for those who are wondering, and Amazon still has the game’s Limited Edition available, as well, for those who are still interested.
